FAQ

Answers to common questions about requesting, managing, and coordinating home tours.

How do I request a tour?+

Open the property, choose an available date and time, select the tour length, and submit your request. Depending on the listing settings, the tour may be confirmed automatically or sent to the listing side for approval.

How will I know if my tour is confirmed?+

You will receive an email when the tour is confirmed, declined, canceled, or when a different time is proposed. Verified agents can also view tour status from My Tours.

What happens if the listing agent proposes another time?+

You can accept the proposed time, choose a different available time, or decline the tour.

Can I change or cancel a tour?+

Yes. Available options depend on the current tour status. Pending and confirmed tours can generally be changed or canceled from the tour details page.

What is an external tour request?+

Verified agents can request a tour for a property that is not yet managed through Get a Home Tour. The request is emailed directly to the listing agent, who can accept, decline, or propose another time without creating an account.

Does a listing agent have to create an account to respond?+

No. A listing agent can respond to an external tour request directly from the secure link in the email. Creating an account is only required if they want to claim and manage the listing through Get a Home Tour.

Why does my agent account need verification?+

Agent verification helps confirm that professional agent features are being used by legitimate real estate professionals. You may be asked to provide your brokerage, license state, and license number.

Can a listing under contract still allow tours?+

Yes. A listing marked Under Contract can continue accepting tours if the listing representative chooses to allow backup showings.

Why are no tour times available?+

A listing may have scheduling paused, minimum notice requirements, blocked availability, or a status that does not allow new tours. Available times are determined by the listing's current scheduling settings.

Who should I contact for help?+
